Questions people ask before they start

What is PlainSignage?

PlainSignage is cloud-based digital signage software. You design screen content in your web browser, and the free PlainSignage player app shows it on Android TVs, Fire TV sticks, tablets or any browser. Changes are pushed to the screens in real time.

Which TVs and devices does it work on?

Any TV with Android TV or Google TV, any Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV stick, Android tablets and set-top boxes, and — through the browser player — any device with a modern web browser, including Windows and macOS computers, Chromebooks, Raspberry Pi and many smart TVs. No proprietary media player is required.

How much does digital signage with PlainSignage cost?

€14.99 per month for the first screen and €4.99 per month for each additional screen, excluding VAT. There is a single plan that includes every feature. Ten screens cost €59.90 per month.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial with all features and one screen. No credit card is needed, and nothing is charged unless you subscribe.

How long does setup take?

Most people have their first screen live within three minutes: install the player, type the 6-character pairing code in the console, pick a template and press Publish.

Can I schedule different content at different times?

Yes. Playlists can be scheduled by day and time, campaigns have start and end dates, and screen hours switch the display on and off automatically — for example a breakfast menu until 11:00 and a lunch menu afterwards.

Can I show live data like weather, news or a Google Sheet?

Yes. Widgets include a weather forecast, news and RSS feeds, YouTube videos and playlists, Google Sheets, calendars, online reviews, exchange rates, air quality, prayer times, directions, charts and a live clock. They refresh themselves.

What happens if the internet drops?

The player keeps showing the last published content from its local cache and reconnects automatically. Publishing resumes as soon as the connection is back.

Can I add or remove screens later?

Yes. Add screens whenever you need them — you pay only the prorated difference for the rest of the billing month. Remove screens and the credit is applied to your next invoice.

Is PlainSignage GDPR compliant?

Yes. PlainSignage is hosted in the European Union, stores only the data needed to run your screens and processes payments through Stripe. Your account and media can be deleted at any time.

How billing works

When do I pay?

Never during the 14-day trial. When you subscribe, Stripe charges the first month; from then on monthly on the same date.

What happens when I add a screen mid-month?

You pay only the prorated part of €4.99 for the remaining days; the next invoice shows the new total.

And when I remove a screen?

The unused part is credited on your next invoice. Screens beyond your plan show a 'subscription ended' notice; the oldest screens stay active.

Can I cancel?

Any time, in the console. Screens keep running until the end of the paid period; there is no cancellation fee.

Do you offer yearly billing or invoices?

Monthly billing via Stripe with invoices and VAT handling per country; contact us for yearly billing on larger fleets.

Is VAT included?

Prices exclude VAT; Stripe adds the correct rate at checkout based on your country and VAT ID.
