In short
To use an Android TV as digital signage: install the free PlainSignage player APK on the TV, open it to get a 6-character pairing code, enter the code in the console at console.plainsignage.com, choose a template and press Publish. The TV shows your content within a second and keeps it cached offline. Total time: about three minutes.
1. Install the player
Open the TV's browser (or a file-manager app) and download the PlainSignage player APK from plainsignage.com. Allow installation from this source when Android asks, then install. Alternatively copy the APK to a USB stick and open it with a file manager on the TV.
2. Pair the screen
Open the app. It shows a 6-character code. In the console, go to Screens → Add screen, type the code and give the screen a name and location. The TV switches to your content immediately.
3. Design and publish
Pick a template — menu, welcome board, news board, dashboard — or start blank. Drag widgets onto the canvas, set brand colours and press Publish. Every change reaches the TV within a second.
4. Make it run 24/7
The player auto-starts when the TV powers on and runs full screen. Set screen hours so the display blanks at night, disable the TV's screensaver and auto-off timer, and enable the TV's own on/off schedule if it has one.

5. Manage remotely
From the console you can identify a screen, reload it, take a screenshot, see when it was last online and get proof-of-play reports. Add more screens for €4.99 each.
